Responsibilities

  1. Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and coworkers within the retail store.
  2. Identify and assess potential security and safety risks, and take appropriate measures to prevent and address them.
  3. Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the store premises to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
  4. Respond to and handle any security or safety incidents, including but not limited to theft, accidents, or medical emergencies.
  5. Collaborate with store management and other team members to develop and implement safety and security procedures and protocols.
  6. Train and educate store staff on safety and security best practices, and reinforce these practices on an ongoing basis.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all safety and security incidents, as well as any preventative measures taken.
  8. Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and external authorities, such as law enforcement or emergency services, as needed.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in safety and security regulations, and make recommendations for improvements to current protocols.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to all IKEA customers, and assist with any inquiries or concerns related to safety and security.
  11. Collaborate with external security partners and vendors, such as security personnel or alarm companies, to ensure the safety and security of the store.
  12. Participate in regular safety and security training and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  13. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times, and serve as a role model for safety and security practices.
  14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  15. Act as a brand ambassador for IKEA, promoting the company's values and creating a positive and inclusive work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Retail Security Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Retail Security Procedures, Including Loss Prevention, Emergency Response, And Safety Protocols.

  • Previous Experience In A Similar Role: Previous Experience In A Retail Security Or Safety Role Is Highly Desirable. Candidates Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Ensuring The Safety And Security Of A Retail Environment.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential For A Retail Security & Safety Associate To Interact With Customers, Colleagues, And Law Enforcement. Candidates Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills.

  • Attention To Detail: In A Retail Environment, Even The Smallest Details Can Have A Big Impact On Security And Safety. Candidates Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Identify Potential Security Risks And Hazards.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Retail Environments Can Be Fast-Paced And Dynamic, Requiring Employees To Be Able To Think And Act Quickly. Candidates Should Be Able To Work Well Under Pressure And Adapt To Changing Situations.
